Architectural Lighting Design & Exterior Security
Lighting is a technical discipline. We focus on Circuit Load Calculations and Voltage Drop Analysis, ensuring that even the most complex dimming systems—including leading-edge and trailing-edge LED drivers—operate without flicker or interference.
- Security: We install high-IP-rated (Ingress Protection) outdoor fixtures, ensuring resistance against dust and water.
- Aesthetics: Our recessed spotlights and coffered ceiling LEDs are calculated for “Lux” levels, providing the perfect light intensity for luxury environments. (Insert: Image of luxury dining room or exterior security lighting)
Kitchen Engineering & High-Load Appliances
Kitchens are the most electrically dense areas of a home. We ensure compliance by installing dedicated Radial Circuits for high-amperage appliances like induction hobs and electric ovens.
- Isolators: We provide local, accessible isolation for every appliance using sleek, brushed chrome finishes that meet UK safety standards.
- Diversity Factors: We calculate the “maximum demand” of your kitchen to ensure your supply cable can handle every appliance running simultaneously without overheating. (Insert: Image of brushed chrome isolators and luxury kitchen sockets)
Infrastructure: Extensions, Lofts & Outbuildings
Expanding a property requires an audit of the existing Total Connected Load. We don’t just “tap into” a circuit; we ensure the protective devices can handle the new demand.
Outbuildings: We install Steel Wire Armoured (SWA) cabling for sub-mains, providing mechanical protection against accidental damage. Installing the entire outbuilding electrical from the origin of the to the new consumer unit with the totally safe and legal earthing arrangement like creating new TT system.
- Lofts/Extensions: All work is subject to Dead Testing (Continuity, Insulation Resistance, and Polarity) before a circuit is ever energized. (Insert: Image of SWA cabling or extended electrical sub-board)
Consumer units
The heart of your electrical safety is the Consumer Unit. We exclusively install 18th Edition Amendment 2 compliant boards.
- RCBO Protection: Unlike standard RCDs, an RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent) provides individual circuit protection. If one circuit fails, only that circuit disconnects.
- SPD (Surge Protection Device): We install Type 2 SPDs to protect your sensitive electronics and smart home systems from transient overvoltages (surges) caused by atmospheric events or switching on the grid.
- AFDD (Arc Fault Detection): For high-risk areas ( HMOs, Care Homes ), we recommend AFDDs to detect micro-arcing in cables, the primary cause of electrical fires.
Earthing, Bonding & Shock Prevention
In the UK, “Earthing” is your primary defense. We verify your Main Earthing Terminal (MET) and ensure that all incoming metal services (Gas and Water) have 10mm² Equipotential Bonding in place. This ensures that in the event of a fault, the path to ground is low-resistance enough to trigger the protective device instantly (Automatic Disconnection of Supply – ADS), preventing fatal electric shocks. Certification & Local Council Compliance
Every significant electrical installation is a legal requirement under Part P of the Building Regulations.
- EIC/MWC: Upon completion, we provide an Electrical Installation Certificate or a Minor Works Certificate.
- Building Control: We handle the notification to your Local Authority Building Control. This legal document is required for the “Schedule of Evidence” when selling or insuring your property, proving that the work was performed by a competent, registered person.
